Dor if you still have the rest on the bow, disconnect the cord to make it drop and shoot it and see what happens.

I missed a deer like that a few years ago but knew it was my release. The tigger was sticky/frozen and had to pull hard/slap it to shoot the arrow. Bad form on part.....shouldn't have shot but sailed over the deer buy a good foot.
Unthawed the release and sprayed it with graphite and still works today.

Hoping not the quad hd......I just put one on my bow this year.
