No gun hunting for me next year...

Unread postby Czabs » Tue Nov 20, 2012 10:54 am

Just doesn't get me jacked like It used to when I was 12. Next year I'm taking out a newb or a youngster and I'm gonna film it. I'm pretty excited to do this next yr, The look/reaction of someone shooting their first deer is priceless. Can't wait!

That sounds sweet. I love it when I'm able to get other guys out into the woods with me. I brought a friend bow hunting in gun season last weekend and was more pumped when he texted me about almost getting a shot at a six pointer than when a little 8 pointer came into view at my own stand.

Its what you make of it. If taking a kid will make your day, great.

Having an encounter with a big buck and a bow is second to none. However, there are some pretty remote properties here that I would see almost never without being able to lighten my load a little. 30lbs of gear really is not that much but archery gear is just awkward to pack and have it be comfortable. Ill take a 50lb well packed bag over a 30# sack of stand and everything else a million times over.

Some of these hills here are just ROUGH. I really need to get a little video put together so you all can see it in its glory.

I really like the idea of taking youngsters out too. I took a kid out turkey hunting for his first time and seeing his face when he heard a close gobble made the hunt for me.

Do you guys know of any gun hunting programs where I could take a kid out hunting?

Cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

www.kamokids.org

a great organization if any of you are wanting to take a kid out hunting who wouldn't otherwise have the opportunity, sheck it out. great program, and we usually put together a few learn-to-hunt opportunities throughout the year, like our upcoming deer hunt for 14 kids at the Mackenzie Center near poynette.
