3 years In the making

Unread postby Schultzy » Fri Nov 16, 2012 11:15 am

His name Is goofy horn. It's easy to see why I named him that. In 2010 I got these weird trail cam photo's of a young buck. I thought what the heck happened to him? Well I saw him countless times In 2010 and was wondering If he'd stick around for the 2011 season. Sure enough I was able to distinguish his rack because of his right pedicle being lower then the left side. I thought he took a nice jump from last year and was hoping he would make It to 3 years old. Sure enough he did. He put on some good Inches but really put on the mass. I passed him on the 7th of November at 8 yards. Had him that close 3 times on that hunt. I don't normally have the urge to shoot 3.5 year old bucks where I hunt on my land but he really gave me the urge and also between him and another buck he's the best we have on our land that we know of. I passed him because I think he's got potential to turn Into something special. He made It through the 1st wave of gun hunting as I saw him 2 days ago. I was happy!! One more round of gun hunting coming late November through the the 1st week of December. Make It through It buddy so I can hunt you as a 4 year old and see If I'm right on your potential!!

Love the story Shultzy. I'm pulling for Goofy Horn! Do you have enough ground to grab his sheds this spring? Will you take him as a 4 year old for sure?
