Well, I took my first shot of the season, Sunday morning.

Long story short, I had a few does come through.....and walk by within 16yds of my stand - all in a line. 20min's later, I look to my left about 80yds and see a buck on the trail the does had been on. I figured him to come on the same trail. Glassing, I decided if he came in, I'd shoot (at) him. He did. I did.

Pass-thru @ 16yds. He trotted about 30yds, stood there 30 seconds or so, and tipped over.

I had other deer still around. So, I couldn't get down to get a good look at him. I was pinned in my stand for another hour.....wondering if I'd made the right decision. Long hour.

When I got down, I finally put my hands on him and wasn't disappointed. I "think" he's a 3.5yo (if I didn't, I wouldn't have shot). I know he's around a 105" buck....and was 19" even, inside.

I see one, "maybe" two deer of this caliber in a typical season. I wasn't about to pass up a chance like I had.

One buck tag left. Holding out for something bigger, now.

If its rare to see that caliber of buck where you hunt then that is a trophy. Congrats!

I won't say it's "rare". But, I hunt a lot. I average seeing (not having in bow range) 1-2 of this size/season.

So, when I get a chance to take one......I try to do just that.

I've hunted probably 25-30X this season. I've seen 2 bucks that would top 100".....and I'm not positive I didn't see this one, twice.
