Topo maps

Was just wondering if anyone would have any interest in posting a topo map and giving me a quick tutorial on how to read them. This would sure help me in finding mature buck beds so i can try to hunt beast style any help and info would sure help. Thnx

Not sure how to post a topo map but I can explain the basics. Each line on a topo represents an elevation. Depending on the map they can be in 10 ft, 20ft., 25 ft. increments, etc. Basically you have a series of ridges and ravines. Look at the map with the elevations and you begin to see how it lays out. Within a topo there can be lots of features, benches, ridge tops, ridges, cuts or ravines, bottom ground, saddle, points, and multiple converging points. My best recommendation would be to watch Hill Country bucks.

Also buy the book "Mapping Trophy Bucks" by Brad Herndon. Its a great tool to have.
