Thanks for the input Dewey! I have two spots on public Im not stepping foot in until Rut kicks in. Scouted these spots last year and they are torn up with scrapes and rubs in a pinch point funnel BT two fields. The other is an excellent inside corner with a deep cut to help me out.

great question , interesting answers. i like hunting all of these days . but if i had to pick i like late october best.

You know when you are new to hunting or younger you kind of depend on the rut to get the deer moving for you. As you gain experience and a better understanding of the big picture you start to fine tune the way you hunt and get on those bucks a little earlier. I've knocked down some nice ones during the rut, but the more I learn the more I find myself getting on those same bucks in Oct and a lot more of them.
