Nothing wrong with that buck. As long as you are happy with it is all that matters.

Congrats! 8-)

8-) nice.. What make/model was the climber.. I stopped using my climber ever since it slipped on me. Good thing I was already low to the ground. Love the Alpha and sticks.. My new bestfriend! Wish I would of invested in them earlier.

This was a summit blade. It worked on every other tree very well. The tree was wet and i am not positive what kind of tree it was. I know to look for a different one now though.

First off congrats on getting back out hunting again and congrats on a great buck.

As far as the seat sliding goes...when I use a climber (not sure what kind you use or if this an option) I always carry a ratchet strap or two with me. Once am up in the air I ratchet the seat and plaform to the stand as soon as possible. It is a bit of a hassle when setting up but if you have that option with the stand you use and it makes you feel more comfortable 18' of the ground I'd go for it.

Thanks for the story. Good luck on your future hunting endevors.

WOW!
That was one of the best posts and buck stories I've read in awhile and am with you all the way.
I too would have done what you chose to do.

Secondly, never sway your decisions for others --> If they don't like it they can line up and kiss your but!

Reminds me of some of my camo/deer pics with my boy Jake from a few years back - I love it!!!

Kudo, congrats, great job and all the other exciting words i left out.

Congratulations! "trophy" is a relative term and doesn't need to be measured in inches, no shame in taking the buck you did. Congrats on overcoming your fear and getting it done!

Good job on the kill. IMO, antlers aint s--t. They are fun to have on the wall, but its the journey leading up to the kill that really matters.

Way to go on the nice buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
