Re: geotagging photos as scouting tool
I geotag photos sometimes. Just faster at the time rather than recording cords. I have taken pics of a tree I may want to.come back and hunt. Then when I get home I pull it up and store it.
As a side note...you need to be careful taking pictures with the geotag turned on (I forget to turn it off sometimes), if you share the pic....then whoever gets the pic can check the properties of the pic and have the coordinates for themself!!!

Re: geotagging photos as scouting tool
It is a handy resourse to use though. I go out os state scouting a lot. I have actually gotten out of the truck...snapped a pic of the truck. Begin walking taking pics every hundred yards or so. I take pictures of things I see that interest me along the scouting trip, such as well used scrapes, food resourses, funnels, trees I may want to hunt later.
When I get back to the home pc and download everything, I can basically see a path I took, as well as notate the "trailspots" pictures I took. Handy tool when everything in the woods greens up and you are searching for a particular spot. You can go exactly back to it, as well as having pics of what it looked like with all the leaves gone.

I wish I had more time so I could learn about this, find out how to use it and the advantages.
You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Backstraps, does the phone get gps coordinates faster than a stand alone gps? Does it get coords fast in tree cover?
