The humane choice is to go take the buck out of its misery. Call the dnr, tell them you have a sick Deer on your hands, you think it has cwd or Ehd. They will give you a salvage tag or another buck tag. Do the right thing.

I don't know much about this but I recently seen a video of a deer with EHD and it was doing the same thing, just stood there. The guy walked right up and was patting and consoling the deer and it just stood there. I hope thats not the case here but it reminded me of the video

It's hard to tell but is that a wound on the inside of his left rear leg in the second photo? Right where his tarsal gland would be. Or is that just his tarsal gland?

I drove by the next day and he wasn't in the field, but when I drove by the property owners house, I saw something in the bucket of his tractor that I'm pretty sure was this buck. I turned around to talk to him but then there was a truck waiting to pull out of the driveway so I went on my way.
