Any Fawn sightings yet

Unread postby Uncle Lou » Tue Jun 01, 2010 12:44 am

My neighbor across the street said he had one in the backyard yesterday.

I personally havent seen any, but last year on this date, my hunting partner filmed a doe having a fawn.

I've been seeing them in MidMichigan for a couple of weeks now, with a real spike the last ten days. Average gestation length for a whitetail is around 200 days, give or take a few more or a few less, depending on the reference source used. Anyone do the math on their hunting area?

I'm in Missouri but my buddy was fishing up in Minnesota last week, almost stepped on one as he was bushwacking to the little trout stream he was fishing. He sent me a photo, killer shot.

I was surveying in a catail marsh on Friday when I stumbled across 2 beady eyes staring at me. Sure enough, about 75 feet off "dry" land there laid a fawn...

Just watched a momma and her fawn across the road today from my porch, they were out at 12:30 browsing around in the marsh.
