Fell out of stand, caught by safety harness

Unread postby bowhunter15 » Tue Sep 18, 2012 3:21 am

Last night when I was filming some post editing stuff I leaned out a little too far. I was trying to lean out from the tree with my LW assassin harness but I'd forgotten I had to loosen it up quite a bit to spin all the way around where the doe initially came from. So I tipped right over the edge with bow in hand. Luckily I was able to pull myself right back onto the platform, but my friends all had a pretty good laugh when they watched it!

Talk about a close call. Make sure you check the stress points on the harness.

Glad to see you are ok. You have to keep the slack out of the harness so you can't leave the platform. Safety first then everything else.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

like everyone else I'm glad you're ok but that was funny knowing now that you didn't get hurt.

Glad your ok man.

I keep a lot of slack in my line as well; I probably shouldn't but it's a real hinderence while trying to shoot sometimes.

Yikes! I have to admit I sometimes don't wear mine. I feel like I should ALL the time after watching that!! I just can't find a good safety harness setup that is quiet and I feel right shooting with...
