I'd be willing to do a group hunt, would have to be after the 16th of Oct. though as I will be in Nova Scotia hunting bear the 10th-16th.Would also need power to charge camera batts, etc.

I could see how the 15th would be bad for you guys.

Maybe Mid October.

Any input?

I would love to meet up with you guys and hunt one day. And $225 is not that unreasonable. Heck, even travelling from Virginia I could probably swing a 5 day hunt for under $500, even including a plane ticket. I would like to get out on some big property that allows us to walk in deep to escape the masses. On small note, one of you guys must Kill a deer on day 1 so we can eat. :)

When is the rut up there? If we could get in on the early stages of that, it would be that much better.

Archery season closes for gun season. The archery tags are not valid during gun season.

You can archery hunt if you purchase a gun tag.
Same cost but just one either sex tag, does still $25 and unlimited.

Gun season this year is 11/13 thru 11/23.

There are bow only areas that are pretty uncrowed during gun season. Most are marsh and ag land, most have a refuge area.
One is 7000 acres.

The only thing is camping can be cold in that time period.

Late October is another option.

For October:
I know an area that gets very little bow pressure, because its kind of rugged. That area also has an outdoor archery range.(2330 acres) A few other areas close by. One is riverbottom,(2200 acres) the other hilly. (300 acres)

There is a truck stop with showers close, and a reasonable motel also.

These spots are a few miles south of Iowa and just east of Nebraska. The riverbottom butts up to Iowa. :D

Good deer population at all areas.

Post gun season you can use both archery either sex tags.
Thats $225 for two bucks.
