Just called my local warden (left out names and specific info) and he said he would want the deer taged. He would not give out another tag unless the deer was sick(cwd or ehd?) even if he (dnr) kept the rack.

His take was deer was shot and recovered.....sucks but the way it is. He has forced guys to tag an eaten deer before when they called him.

Thanks everyone! I owe a lot of my success to Dan and all of you Beasts! Seeing it all come together on public northwoods land on opening night was a feeling I can't even begin to describe. The Alpha and sticks allowed me to get in tight and climb a junk, crooked tree and I was totally silent and so comfortable! I could never do this with my climber. I would have climbed a telephone pole in the hardwoods and more than likely the buck doesn't show during shooting hours.

That's a heck of a northwoods buck. I have hunted up there enough to know hard those are to find. That is equal to a Booner in southern WI in my opinion. Congrats again PLB!
