Another question do most in here hunt the dusk/dawn hours or do they also follow moon times (i.e. if full moon hunt at noon but deeper in bush, etc)?
I hunt evenings until late october. Mornings from then thru rut.
My days a predetermined because of work, kids, gf, etc so I dont use the moon as much as some.
I do hate full moons though, I never see much if any movement.
I hunt all day when I see chasing and cruising and I have time.
Part of the reason I adopted this style of hunting is because I do not have the time to hunt everyday and try new spots over and over.
I have plenty of places to hunt in a season, but I also chase sika deer part of the time... and Im a duck hunter 1st.
I scout with an open mind, and more than I hunt. I then try to make an aggressive move when I feel ALL conditions line up.
I had more mature buck encounter last season then the previous 3-4 combined. I am by no means an expert, but finding where they live in daylight will get you in the game much faster then waiting for the rut. In fact, I do terrible in the rut... best last season was a nice buck running 100 mph thu the woods... like Im going to get a shoot at him. :)
