Re: Staying Warm
I have hunted in temps as low as -20 with wind chills much colder. Being on stand is not much fun on days like that so I will generally sit in a ground blind if it is too windy.
I like dressing in layers with high quality thermall underwear with fleece shirt and pants and vest. My outerwear is a pair of Cabela's Late Season coveralls, neck gator and Under Armour Cold Gear facemask topped with a good fleece stocking cap. For boots I like my Irish Setter Snowclaws with are rated for minus 100. Of course good quality socks is a must. As far as gloves I prefer light cloth gloves and use a handwarmer muff with handwarmer packs. Keeps hands toasty warm and ready for a shot.
If it gets really cold I may add a few adhesive body warmers to my kidney area on my back.
With all of this I am usually very comfortable and have sat on stand for extended hours without getting cold.
I thought about a Heater Body Suit but what I use now works very well for me. Maybe in the future!

Re: Staying Warm
I've hunted mornings late season in December when it was _25 regular temperature. I've hunted evenings when it was
_40 with the windchill. Lots of layers, handwarmers. Those sits are 2 hours tops. That's all I can handle. Main thing is walk in slow, don't get sweated . Put your outer layers on at your tree.

Re: Staying Warm
I have icefished with temps in the -40 before windchills, but I have a special suit for that. For hunting I consider cold 20 or less, the key is to layer and to not start sweating. I am hoping my predator fleece will help keep me warm to the o degree mark or so.

Re: Staying Warm
Im like Brad 20 or less I consider cold.
Dang you guys hunt some temps that are crazy !!!
I seen the heater body suit, that thing has got to work :)
I guess layers is the key.
I had thought about buying some U/A Coldgear this year.
Last year I wore some Rocky Fleece under garmets that worked pretty well.
I have an Extreme Cold Gear outfit from Cabelas, MT050. That thing is too warm to wear in.
Its so bulky I have never packed it in. I bet the bibs and coat weighs 10 lbs!

Re: Staying Warm
I have an underarmour set of underwear, top and bottoms. To be honest I think a walmart set of basically the same spandex type material is just as warm and about 80 bucks cheaper. I use those, then a set of rocky fleece long underwear or fleece pajamas, fleece sweater then my jeans, then my bibs, and my coat.

Re: Staying Warm
I don't consider it cold unless the trees are popping, they will let you know it is darn cold out. I usually consider a high of 10 degrees or less to be pretty cold. I've hunted all day with a high of -20 but I had to take a walk mid-day to get the blood flowing, didn't see a deer all day. I stay warm with a lot of layers and an array of toe, hand, and body warmers. Like mentioned above not breaking a sweat and dressing near or at your stand is a must.
