Planting food plots, two nice bucks, and a niece
Put in our food plots this past weekend. 1.5 acres total spread out in a thin strip. Forage soybeans, austrian winter peas, buck forage oats, brassica's and of course SLAYER RADISH SEED! Got rain the next morning so should come in well hopefully. calling for rain in near future also. Got a couple nice bucks on camera. Had them out since may. Put the rest of the cameras out as well. The weeds you see in the plots are dead, they just dont know it yet!

Thought I posted the back view of the first buck but didnt. At first I thought they were same animal, but first buck in original post is a 6x6 with straight brows, second buck in original post is a 5x5 with brows pointing in. Sorry for poor pic quality, these are pictures taken with my phone off of my laptop. Didnt have wi-fi while camping.

Thanks for the pics.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Not sure the differerence to tell you the truth. Im thinking the forage beans may be more leafy since they wont grow to maturity? Deerslayer would know im sure.

Forage soybeans have a much lower bean to leaf ratio, but forage soybeans will grow 4'-7' tall and produce a lot of foliage. There are also some varieties of forage soybeans that grow up to 20' long vines and will grow up cornstalks, sunflowers, etc.

Yeah Im familiar with forage soybeans, just seems like a really late planting, I shouldve been more specific.

I haven't tried this with forage soybeans, but this is a good time to plant regular soybeans for early bow season. The deer love tender young soybean plants.

Come to think of it, you are right as its entirely possible to double crop soybeans in traditional ag and I suspect that might happen a lot this year.
