New Rut Spots
I have been scouting a lot this off season for the upcoming year. I've put more time in this year then ever before and my confidence is continuing to grow with the seemingly good public spots I have found. This weekend I have spent every morning and some nights trying to find the best rut stand. May sound lame but until now I never have felt that I have that perfect rut funnel which seems to produce big deer encounters year after year. This weekend I found two spots that look unreal. One is 2 miles back for a south wind on public and the other is 1 mile back for a NW wind. Went in tonight to the second, prepped a tree, cleared some small lanes, etc. There were heavy trails at the fence crossing & poopies everywhere. I won't be back in there until after Halloween. I have never seen a spots that looks so promising. I won't stop until I have a multiple spots that are conveyor belts for bucks come the rut.
