LW STICKS (I LIKE THEM!)

Unread postby backstraps » Mon Jul 09, 2012 10:34 am

Well I had a chance to play around with the LW sticks today. I have to admit, they are the quietest sticks I have used. Also like the ease of hanging them with the versa button.

I am 6'3 I didnt space the sticks out to where I would be "reaching" to get the next step accomplished. I had the sticks placed where the next step on the stick was just above my kneecap.

I just wanted to see what I could get out of the sticks in case I ever need a high set. SO, the top of my last stick (#6) was placed at the platform of my hangon. I used two tree steps to be able to have a three point stance stepping over onto my stand. Once up there, I dropeed a rope and measured the distance....
32 feet! Thats about as good as one can expect from 15lbs of sticks and 10.5lbs from my stand!

Zap meant 30'(ft), and uh, it was funny at the time but BH is a big boy.

Cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

If you don't already have one yet.... Now you a LW hang on!!! The sticks pack nicely on it with bungee cords the way Dan does it on his videos about hanging stands.

I actually had one, but sold it. I didnt think it was very comfortable on the longer all day rut hunts.

I was using Leverage sticks with it, and they actually packed up nice with the Alpha.

I got a LW with sticks for last season. I was able to hunt a lot more spots and get into trees I couldn't with my summit climber. I actually am now giving that away bc it's obsolete.

The only concern I have with the LW sticks is they make too much noise if they his each other or your stand. I'm going to wrap them with something. I was thinking hockey/cloth tape. Any suggestions there?

Uncle Lou's stealthstrips, cheap and work great, made in the USA, and a great guy to buy from, I can personally vouch for him and his customer service.

I don't think I would ever go without my LW sticks. My LW stand on the other hand, if I'm hunting any longer than a 1/2 day hunt....that uncomfortable thing stays at home!
