Any Beast members have experience and/or recommendations for a broadhead for my daughter? She should pulling about 40 lbs. by the archery opener. She will definitely be using a COC broadhead. Her current field points are 85 grains. Anyone have experience with two blade stingers on low weight bows? I'm leaning towards a two blade broadhead for better penetration.
Her stand sites are setup for a 10 yard shot, maybe 15 yards at the farthest.
Thoughts?

Re: Low draw weight broadhead?
Hi JM
I went through this same scenario with my daughter.
The COC is the biggest thing. I was able to get a good Easton 600, topped with a 75 grain Muzzy fixed 3 blade head. She was shooting a 26 inch draw and 42 lbs.
Her first deer she harvested was at 17 yards. She was able to get a clean straight through pass through.
Her second that season was a quartered away buck, her exit was through the left shoulder, and still got a pass through.
I was looking at the Magnus heads, but thought the small head would be better. I know Slick Tricks offer a head close to the Muzzy.
But the combination my daughter was using proved to be very very effective. Shot placement is key I think on whichever head you decide to go with.
BEST of luck to you guys!! Hope she tags a good'un

That's encouraging to know your daughter had pass throughs.

Magnus Stinger or Buzzcut, even 4 blade will do great.

You can't go wrong with a lighter 3 blade Muzzy shooting 40 lbs. Pass throughs shouldn't be a problem.

I vote for Stingers but the Muzzy will probably do fine too.
Ted Nugent's wife killed a monster Zebra on one of his shows with a 40lb bow with a Stinger.
Todays compound bows have tremendous energy, a thin skinned whitetail is no problem with 40 lbs.

I would go with any cut on contact, just stay away from mechanicals since some of your KE is lost with mechanicals.
