What boat and motor would be best for that one that goes through low tide and strong currents
I know some place i wanna get to the tide rips
this type of setup would work great for you http://www.oakorchardcanoe.com/motormount.php all you need is a gruman aluminum canoe you can pic them up used for around 200 bucks if you just drive around you will see them in peoples back yards a lot of people will sell them to you if you ask.

I was to dang cheap when I was younger. I think those are the perfect hunting canoe. I really like how they keep the same beem width on all the models, even down to the 11' model. I think the S13 might be a little better size to get through tight quarters?
They are definitely an awesome canoe. Do you have a motor for it?
DeerSlayer! I have the same rig. I oufit mine with a 5 horse trolling motor and a marine battery. the boat itself gets heavy with a motor and battery in there but it moves perfect and it is the perfect hunting canoe. I have used other canoes and it can get a little sketchy with 2 guys stands and sometimes a deer in a regular canoe. One of these is no problem. Those foam rails really help keep it up and stable. The inside foam as well helps keep the noise down when putting gear in and out of the boat. it is really worth the money

MattH wrote:I recently discovered a nearby public spot that is water access only (on a lake). I was thinking of a canoe as an affordable option to possibly get to the spot this upcoming season. There is only one place to drop in on the lake and that is 2.5-3 miles from where the hunting region is located. Seems like it would be a long way to row or would take hours to access. To those of you who have canoes, how far can/do you paddle? How many use an outboard? Anyone use a trolling motor?
I have a 5 horse trolling motor. It gets the job done on the rivers. Lakes can get a little sketchy if it is real windy. It does move the canoe just fine though. I have the same boat as singingbridge so it is a little heavier but i fish and hunt from it with motor. In my area I can not hunt with a motor it is against the law so paddling it is.
