depends on two situations. If i have 2-300 acres that I own. The 160 would get a pass because he has a good chance of making it and will be a world class deer in a year or two. Public land.... 160 all day.

If both deer gave me a nice broadsided shot, and basically all I had to do is release the string on one...the 125 would wonder what the heck just happend to the 160 :)

I think someone already responded my way.

Public land: 160"!!!

Private land: 125" hoping the 160" makes it another year or 2 to the size of legendary status. I am pretty confident he would get a bullet thru him by one of the poaching yahoos we have in the area I hunt.

RReadingsome of the post here stating if they were on private the 160 would walk to become even bigger....my thoughts there is if you were going to let the 160 walk, then i would for sure let the 125 to mature as well.

I understand the 160" answers, I mean come on its 160", but it is 3 1/2 years old. If you can keep the other hunters from shooting him he can turn into an absolute BEAST!!! I have passed just over 150" 3 1/2 year old so I would like to think I am shooting the 125 but hard to tell when the moment of truth comes.
