Black Bears and Minerals

I am thinking about starting a Mineral Lick for Deer, but I am concerned that Bears will use it more than Deer. Or worse yet use it to ambush Deer.
I don`t want bigger Bears either. Does anyone have any info about Bears and minerals, or should I not be concerned.

If you hunt in bear country good luck!! Bears are like pigs, they eat any and everything! In my opinion if you don't want to see bears, don't put out any attractants. Any kind of food plot, lick, or bait will draw in bears in the fall.

I had a bear walk off with a salt block last spring. I also had one of those wildgame suckers that I got on clearance for $2. He ate that up fast.

Thanks for the input. I guess I will have to skip the Minerals. I do have a food plot usually plant Brasiccas for fall. I haven`t seen Bear tracks or poop in the food plot. But I have pictures on Trail Cams. Sounds like the only thing Bears don`t like is Lead!!!

I have used antler king mineral for years in northern njs bear country with no pics of bears? I get pics of bears terrorizing corn piles but not mineral stations..

I guess I wouldn't afraid of putting out a little mineral.. It's not gonna be enough to hold a bear. A bear may come in and nose around some but it's not gonna be his primary source of nutrition...
