Same here. I always used to have a rope that I took with me or had a rope tied to each set. The rope that I took with me always seemed to tangle up somehow and in the dark it's a pain to attempt to get them out. Bought the Primos bow sling and ditched all of my ropes and haven't looked back. Best $20 I've spent I believe. Free's up your hands when walking to and from the stand and just throw your bow over your shoulder when climbing up to your stand.

Bring an extra step to use as a bow holder then once you have the stand set up, tie it to your bow rope.
