asat vs predator

Unread postby NBK438 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 12:19 pm

Buying new camo this year. Have heard great things about predator and asat but don't know which one to go with. I was really eyeing up asat elite series. Opinions?

I heard the Elite line is great clothing just not very warm compared to other brands or garments.

I have the predator fleece line and absolutely love it. Deer just look right through you, and it is very warm.

Yeah im a fan of fleece so that's perfect. I've heard great things about predator. Do you wear the gray year around? I was thinking the brown deception would be a good ap pattern.

I prefer the brown deception. The fall grey has too much contrast in my opinion. While contrast breaks up your outline, it also makes you more susceptible to being picked off by movement. I know guys that have struggled with fall grey during their draw cycle.

I am a big fan of the brown deception, I wear it all year from spring turkeys through all of deer season, I do use fall grey but usually when there is snow on the ground.

Thanks alot for the feed back guys. Im thinking brown deception for my ap pattern and fall grey for snow. I've been reading up and like a few of you have said the fall grey has seemed to have stuck out in the early season

They are both excellent patterns! If you are looking for ASAT fleece. Day One Camo has it. Purchasing through Predator directly will be a less expensive option.
I have a decent amount of fall gray and ASAT stuff. If I am up in a tree and there are no leaves on the tree not much beats fall gray.

Both are good choices, I prefer ASAT by a hair.

Another vote for predator. I always used an older pattern and had awesome luck with it, but my wife just got me the complete fall brown fleece set for Christmas, I am going to get some pants and lighter weight clothes for earlier season.

Been using the original Fall Brown for several years now and as mentioned, the deer will look right through you. I'm not a big fan of the Deception for treestand hunting.....just looks like it would "blob" at 15 to 20 yards.....something the Fall Brown and Gray won't do.

I bought a set of each a couple years ago. I like both of them but the ASAT didn't hold up well at all. It started to fade the first year and some of the seams started coming apart. The quality just wasn't there. Their customer service was a joke. They wouldn't answer the phone or return my emails. After 2 weeks of trying to reach them, I finally got a lady on the phone, she was at the bank. Apparently the phone number list on the web site was her cell phone  Then it took 3 weeks to exchange a shirt. I wasn't happy, still not. I like the camo pattern, but someone else needs to sell it.

I have no complaints with the predator at all. Good stuff.

Fall Brown is an excellent early season choice.
