A few friends and I want to try hunting the SW WI public lands for next season and have done some research, but with the large amount of public land in that area can't seem to narrow it down to one area or another. We plan to go scouting/shed hunting this coming March in this area as well and have a good idea of what to look for with the help of "Hill Country Bucks DVD".
My question to all my beast brothers is how do you narrow it all down to one specific area, when hunting a completely new terrain/area? They all look promising from the online maps. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pick the area furthest from the city.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.
