most people hunt their property so they immediately tune out when I share beast style because in their mind if they blow the bucks from their beds more than a couple of times they know the deer will leave the property. If you want to be a beast style hunter you have to scout as much if not more than you hunt and you need around 10-30 spots to hunt so you are not blowing deer out of the property. beast is not for all and sometimes I wonder if it is for me...so much work, no magic, and lots of time....I am dedicated to this method and in about 3 years I hope to look back and reinforce everything I read about on this forum with my own experinces and stories from the woods!

p.s. from a new hunter- the bone on the wall tells more about how good a hunter is than knowledge and info so once you put some big ones down people will automatically listen...when I first came on this site I had no idea who dan was or that he had DVDs or was the reason for this forum but I saw his avatar wall of bucks and I thought to myself "whatever that guys says matters"...since I have no slob bucks to my name people can write me off very easily but my hope is down the road to gain some esteem and respect so when i share insights people listen (not that I am important, but that I do know some things that will help them become better hunters)...now if I could transfer all I know to all that I do in season I should be in good shape ha

go beast or go home!

I like the line from OP about "are you a socialist" when it comes to sharing info/putting others on deer.

I had some camaeras up in good spots and others wanted to see all my photos (people who could also hunt the same land). Why would I just give you all the information on the big bucks I am after when I had to spend a lot of time/money to get it? So I can just but some big ones in your lap that you wouldnt even know existed let alone where to hutn them if it werent for me. I dont think so.

I think a big part of it is people would have to admit they really don't know that much about deer hunting and that is a hard pill for most to swallow. Its human nature to think we know more than we do about things so buying in requires an open mind and admission that we know very little and that's tough on many. Many also aren't willing to put in the required effort so its easier to dismiss it, even though I doubt that is a conscious decision....

I kind of like it though, less competition!! ;)

I think most people who hunt deer want to shoot a nice buck. It is just that a very small percentage of the deer hunters put in the required work to shoot the better bucks.

I too have steered many towards this information, many resist before opening the book. Even though I don't indulge into the BEAST tactics every waking minute, the knowledge I have gained here has totally changed how I think and hunt, and I am greatful for that.

Oh and I hate when I go through several pages of a bumped thread before I realize the date

This is a fantastic thread with many quality points. Well worth a bump or two.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I wonder sometimes, "How did I miss this much talk?" Then realise it's an old thread.

Right... Why waste your time with people with closed minds. When I hunt a private farm, or an area with others, I do better if they don't know what I know. If they hunted just like me we would end up frustrated fighting over the same spots.

I would tell them if they were good friends, but just like anything else, if they don't listen, I stop given.

Reminds me of being at work... My job is to work between engineering and the machine shop to help make the best designed machined parts that are both easy to machine, and functional. I often see errors or corrections in drawings or designs and discuss it with engineering to make everyones world a better place... Some of the engineers, especially the good ones who are confident openly discuss the drawing / designs and are very thankful for the input. But there are also some, who take it like I am trying to tell them they are not good engineers and that I am putting them down. They come back argumentative, demanding that I but out and "just make it how I drew it" .

Lets just say that some of the engineers get great parts made, and those others, I offer no feedback anymore and there parts are extremely expensive by design. To fight or argue back would not do me any good. Upper management would look at us both as fighting and what would I gain?

I used the work comparison because most people have very similar work issues.. But in the same thought here, What are you gaining by pushing Beast style down your friends throats? If you feel compelled to get them on board tell them once... If they don't want to hear it, its their loss not yours.

For me Dan, Beast hunting is something new I have discovered and as I gain and retain this information, its hard for me not to ramble on about it to friends and such...because it is so exciting.

But after a good 1.5 months of hard scouting and miles and miles walking and hours and hours of racking my brain...I think I am done talking about it, I am putting too much work in to let other people in on it. I will keep it to myself and my one good hunting buddy.

I also have no results to show for my efforts and until I do, no point in me preaching to people about it.

^^Pride myself in being this type of engineer.

As far as the hunting goes, 99.9% of my deer hunting friends hunt their own land, or bait, or both. Preaching The Beast is a waist of air.
