Here are some single bed pics.
Anyone want to put a direction of body orientation and which way it is facing?
I find this stuff interesting....

NNW?
Would you think that hunting near, or on the down wind side of a doe bedding area during the rut would be a bad idea?
Near?.....or so near I had to worry about which way they were facing as I walked by - so close to where they were bedded?
Near? No (not a bad idea). It's a great idea. I do it all the time.

When I walk within eyesight (theirs - not mine) of a whitetail, I just assume it can see me...unless I see it looking the other way. What I was getting at is...... why you wouldn't just assume this....and not worry about which way they're facing or not facing? That's all.
I agree... I do like to know and understand everything in whitetail behavior I can and think it benefits me to certain extents. But really, the advantages of knowing which way a doe in a group faces are not that great...
As far as your 1st comment. We had a thread a while back, I will try and find it and bump it, called "words a true hunter never uses" or something close to that. It started with "always" "never" etc.

Dan....I recall the thread. It's so true.

Re: How Often.......Doe/Buck Bedding
This is a younger buck and bedding at night. It does indicate bucks and does may bed in the same area. I had more pictures of bedded bucks and does but didn't keep the pics. I find trail cameras a tremendous tool for learning deer habits. I have pictures of bucks and does bedding in the same area in the daylight also. If I run across them I'll post up the pics.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
