I see, but how do you? You must be part hoot owl. ;)

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Well you set the platform so the tree fork is at your waist.

Tree between you and the expected route/direction of the deer.

Pretty easy to blend in, alot better than a lolipop set.

Even my cedar sets are set that way. They give plenty of cover to draw.

I cant do either for an extended period of time. Too many years of high impact sports.

Totally comfortable with a sitting shot. I practice it often.

Yeah it's a double edged sword for sure. I have gotten hooked so many times by forks I'm very selective on setting stands in trees with forks. I guess you gotta do what is best for every scenario. Late season hunting is about concealment or lack of. I'm like you I hate lollipop set ups.

I have shot deer both sitting and standing. I prefer standing when possible but sometimes your sitting down and that buck or doe comes in from a direction where I think that I can not stand without getting busted, so in that case I will sit and shoot. I have a lock on setup in my backyard 18 foot high and practice both sitting and standing shots from the stand. I prefer standing because you get more range of motion and better angles to shoot.
