Re: What's your Favorite post of 2011
Without getting into the stories in the Big Buck Contest, Indiana Hunter had a couple I wish I could find, the one about bumping the deer to the other woodlot this summer was memorable, and he had another one a little more deep with a reference to the book. Been a lot of good stuff in 2011.
Singing Bridges Ontario Black Bear Hunt chronicles were pretty awesome.
That mountain lion story posted in the Big Game section was recent but there was a heck of an adventure.

So many to choose from. Sanctuaries sticks in my mind as being areal classic. Big buck Beast lineup is nothing to sneeze at.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

The one that I remember lately is the" lone wolf sticks" thread. That thread blew up to 7 pages in like 2-3 hours and with 3 sticks you can reach anywhere from 12' to 30'!!!!
It was hilarious to me because I was trying to post and 3 people posted so I read them to see if I needed to modify my post and went to post again and two people replied , read those and another person replied so I had to read that and finally got a post in.

Re: What's your Favorite post of 2011
too many to choose from but a few that come to mind....
Carol started the thread about pics showing many of Dan's treestand set-ups and all the knarly trees that he and other beasts would hunt out of. I thought that was cool and learned alot.
bighunt had some classic scouting pics I really liked
I also really liked Stanley's thread about what it takes to be a great hunter...I think he hit the nail on the head with his post btw
The "live from the stand" thread, many of Dewey's scouting/treestand pics come to mind.
Learned a ton from Dan's input on hunting primary beds, satellite beds, ect. Learned more this year than any year prior thats for sure!
oh yeah, and Muddy's sense of humor was epic

Anything involving Marsh hunting and scouting was great knowledge for me. Dan, Bighunt, Bucky, Spysar, were some that stuck out and had great info in. There were countless others just can't think. I love this website. Its like a hardcore hunter facebook .

Most entertaining = Muddy
Best buck story = Bassin and Spy tie
Hardest earned buck = Jackson Marsh and PredTC
Natural born kills = too many 2 list! Bowhunter15 is on a killing rampage though

Re: What's your Favorite post of 2011
I have read so many great posts in the short time I have been here....
But the one the strikes me the most would be "Recognizing you weakness" I really like the posts that make me think about what I could do to be more successful. Any post I can learn something from is great! I assume that is what this site was intended to do. Teach us. Well done
There are a lot of very funny people here too, being a wise myself I appreciate the humor on here too!!!

Aside from the hunting posts,
I had the most fun with the bonus round of contest #2 for the snow camo stealth strips.

Re: What's your Favorite post of 2011
The most interesting thread for me was " Dan's Set ups"
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9150
It is very helpful to see the day to day thought process of Beast style hunting.
I enjoy posts that document the hunt/scout via photos and narrative. The more tactical information the better.
Also, "equipment review" posts are great. Cornfedkiller and Indiana Hunter have put together some great threads on equipment.
