Lone wolf alpha with 7 sticks, ratchet strap
Here's just a picture of how to do this real easy. You stack the sticks so that the bottom stick has the strap and the 4th stick has a strap. Secure the 4th stick with the botom strap, place 3 more and secure those with the strap from the 4th stick. Lay all seven sideways on the stand, secure with the ratchet strap. No play, no noise what so ever during transport.

Nice compact package for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I find it hard to believe an elastic strap tightens down as tight as a ratchet strap, I don't think its possible.
I do agree I won't use ratchet straps because they are so noisy.
Do you have any pics of this set up on a tree? Or pics from a stand that is 7 sticks high? That seems crazy high especially for bowhunting.

To minimize the noise when using the ratchet strap, you hold the release with your thumb, when you tighten, let it go to engage, till you bring it back and again hold the release. You can definitely use the ratchet strap without any noise, once you learn how.
Some pics of 7 stick sets, the base of the stand is at about the versa button:
It's only a few feet more than normal for me. Here close to the city under 20 feet you have almost no chance, the yearlings are all coming in looking up. When I hunt further from home, it's not always necessary, but when I'm hunting high and they coming in out of the bottom, it really helps.

I'm not calling you a liar but think about it, what will pull tighter? A mechanical ratchet mechanism or an elastic strap? With a ratchet you pull any slack out of the strap with the geared mechanism...what maxes out the tension on an elastic strap?
That is a really high set up buckfever you are using this is more of an urban hunting setting? How do you compensate for such a sharp shot angle?

BOOM Headshot!
Actually I was wondering the same thing about the extreme shot angle.

I would think its not that extreme if the deer is outside 20 yards. Closer yes it's extreme and will take a precision shot.

I'm pretty much routinely setting up this way now, just because I've developed that mindset and I'm seemingly invisible in these sets. The angle isn't hard for me. I've always hunted the thick stuff, so I've probably killed 10-15 deer almost directly under my stand say 5 yards. I've practiced that extensively on the 3-d targets, it's pretty routine for me. I do think that a heavier arrow, a 125 grain highly penetrating head is in order.

Agreed. You can definitely use a ratchet strap silently, you just have to know how to use it.
I have no problem using bungees, but I am only using 3-4 sticks.
I wasn't a fan of the raptor straps, they arent slick enough and bind up a little too much. Bungees work just as well.

Its not the penetrating factor that kills you with great heights, and steep angles, its the high probability of only hitting one lung.
