Re: New reg for Kansas.
Why would anyone need a silencer to deer hunt?

Re: New reg for Kansas.
maybe enough non hunters complained about all the noise associated with shooting? Stupid to allow them, but with the cost of a decent suppressor, I cant see many poachers buying them.

Or so it don't blow the windows out of the vehicle! Next week they will allow spot lights mounted on the scope for the "night hunting".

Re: New reg for Kansas.
That is crazy.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: New reg for Kansas.
Poachers will poach anyway, they probably already use one if they are concerned about noise. I think it is funny that guns need to be LOUD to be legal when the opposite would make more sense. I would much rather shoot a quiet gun than a loud one and would use a suppressor if legal here and if it did not affect the accuracy of my gun.

That's make sense too.
But, in any control if agents find a suppressor you could be sure it's a poacher if it's illegal.

Re: New reg for Kansas.
Hey Zap thank you for the invite to this forum it looks good so far too.
On suppressors they were covered under the 1968 Omnibus Crime act and a few other acts made numerous years ago. They are not legal unless someone has a Class 3 firearms license which is the same license that covers fully automatic weapons. This license is expensive and opens the owner of said license to be searched at any time without a warrant for weapons only and to make sure the owner of said weapons still has possession of them and has not sold them. Suppressors are not effective unless a bullet is shot out of the barrell that is subsonic.
