Does anyone know what this grass is called? I see it in swamps all over wisconsin but don't know the name of it. It seems to only grow in the water. Real noisy and about knee to thigh high.
What is this grass called?

Most likely some sort of switchgrass or sedge.
Can you get a photo of the seed head?

I think the correct name is " Panicum Grass" or if a duck hunter we call it switch grass. Mossy Oak adds this look to their Shadow Grass camo

We call it swamp grass.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I just call it Marsh Grass!
All I know is that it is very hard on the hips dragging your legs through it for long distances. Much nicer when the snow packs it down.

I call marsh grass the same as some people call marsh hay. That stuff gets 5 or 6 feet tall by the end of summer. this stuff is only like 2-3 feet at the tallest and only grows in the water or areas that are wet in spring.
