Spearing Deer in Wisconsin?

Unread postby Czabs » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:54 pm

Is it legal to spear a deer in the state of Wisconsin? I saw it on some videos before and it's something that interests me. I looked at the regs and by the looks of it, it looks illegal. But I wanted to see what you guys think or know.

Oh no I wouldn't do that with a buck. I'm just wondering if it is legal to do!? It says you can't kill a deer with anything other than a gun and a bow and arrow so I'm thinking no. :( . I would make a spear and kill one late season on film if it was legal though! shucks.

Illeagle... A while back a guy made a bear spearing video in Canada that got a bunch of people doing it and it had a lot of people upset and they changed wording in laws in a lot of states and provences to make sure it was illeagle.
A while back I wanted to make a "catch and release" deer video hunting them with paint balls... Thats lleagle too. Its considered animal harrasment.

Haha we wanted to do that on our property during slug season a few weeks ago...Figured it would be cool to have a paintball gun for the deer that we werent going to kill, and then we would all have different color paintballs...Figured it would be cool to see which deer got "shot" by who and how many different people could've killed that same deer..

But you are right..illegal.

When I was a kid I wanted to do it, but now I wouldn't do it because it would be crossing a personal line on what I consider an unnecessary amount of pain to the deer. Obviously I wouldn't want to be shot or speared, but I think a broadhead zipping through my lungs at 200 mph would be a lot less painful than being stuck with a large slow moving blade. For me I draw the line at a bow, but that is JMHO. To each their own.
