The story begins on Nov. 8, it was raining all day and i watched the news and saw that the weather was supposed to break and i new that was the time to hit the woods! Now, i have been passing numerous bucks and have been seeing really good rut action just havent connected! that all changed as soon as the weather broke at 2:30 in the afternoon, i was on stand up in the middle of the bedding area...i was able to sneek in with the wet forest floor..i got in my lonewolf, and at 2:45, i decided just to rattle to stir things up..i no longer set the horns down, grabbed the grunt call, made a few soft grunts and one big growl at the end
i had a small buck come flying in immeditaly and it wasnt long after that, probably 2-3 min and i could hear branches breaking! i looked over my shoulder and here came a buck i know from trail camera, he stepped in my shooting lane at 20 yds and smoked him! i wasnt able to see him fall from tree being it was so thick so i snuck out quietly and waited til dark to track and ended finding him only 60 yds from the tree! i was so relieved to have another great buck on the ground! all the hard work in the off season finally paid off! the feeling never gets old!
The picture is in the snow, i wanted to take good day light photos of the deer, and that night is when we go the 2-3 inches of snow, so the pictures look good but i didnt actually shoot it in the snow
