Congrats to both of you.
Hunting with kids is great and nothing can take it's place or feel better.

Kudos to the young hunter.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Congrats to Jesse and you Black Squirrel. Nothing like sharing nature. Did he ask a lot of questions while removing the insides or just say gross?

He wanted to gut it, and I was prepared to talk him through it, but when it came time to do it, he said he would like to watch, and gut his next one. I was ok with this, as it was getting cold, dark, and we had a light mist. If it had been during daylight, it might had been different.
Jesse, says thanks to all! He also said, maybe I should be grey squirrel, and he could be Black squirrel, since his hair is dark brown and mine is getting more grey al the time! (In response to Encyclopedia's post)

I agree with this post, not a bad idea to head mount the 1st regardless of buck or doe. He may kill monster bucks down the road but there is only 1 first deer. You can always use it next to a buck mount down the road too. Either way congrats to your son and you and I hope it is the first of many for you and him together!
