Did anyone bow hunt during the WI gun deer season on public?

I hunted with my rifle but felt very guilty about it. Just bought a new rifle a few years ago so decided I better use it but I have to admit it was a hard decision.

Didn't see or hear of anybody hunting with a bow this year. I will be very interested to see the registration numbers for bow kills during the gun season when they come out.

On the opener I brought both weapons out and shot a yote with the.bow. After that I just brought the gun seeing as I only had nine days to fill that tag and didn't think the odds were good enough to kill one with each.

I was considering it... I saw a real nice 8 pointer on a bow only public piece just before gun season and was thinking about going after it, but its a very rural spot and did not want to have people calling 911 seeing me in orange thinking I was gun hunting so I chickened out.

Interesting side note on that subject. Where I shot the 9 pointer on opening day of gun I threw about 15 rounds into the cattails on the edge of open water from a tree as deer scattered on the drive. 3 or 4 shots were made at a large buck running the edge of the pond. From an elevated position, I could see my driver and shoot safely.
Later in the week we pushed it again hoping maybe that big buck was in there. This time I pushed it. Was pretty surprised to find a duck hunter all in camo tucked right in the spot where I was throwing lead a few days earlier... How come thats legal?
