Jeff Murray's Rut Guide
I know a lot of you are fans of Jeff's Moon Guide, me too but I wish I wouldn't have canceled the early season trips I had planned based on it, supid scouting cameras, lol. Anyway, does anyone have any experience with his Rut Guide. Does his theory differ from Alsheimer's which I wrote off years ago? I've been a photo period guy but after another strange rut in extreme Northern Missouri just south of the Iowa border I'm thinking I may need to tweak things a bit. It was warm and windy most of the week so I tend to believe that caused things to happen more at night but I'm always open to new ideas. I might buy the current one, 2011-2015, and see what kind of predictions it made for 2011. Anyone have the prior one that covers the last 5 years to compare it to reality? Thanks.

What is "reality"?

Re: Jeff Murray's Rut Guide
Yes I have the old one in my hand right now. Here are the dates...............
2007 Pre rut Oct 27-Nov 7
Peak breeding Nov 8-12
Trolling Nov 13-20
Second rut Dec 7-17
2008 Pre rut Nov 11-21
Peak breeding Nov 22-29
Trolling Nov 28- Dec 2
Second rut Dec 17-26
2009 Pre rut Nov 2-12
Peak breeding Nov 13-18
Trolling Nov 19-24
Second rut Dec 12-22
2010 Pre rut Oct 24- Nov 5
Peak breeding Nov 6-10
Trolling Nov 11-16
Second rut Dec 4-14
2011 Pre rut Nov 9-19
Peak breeding Nov 20-25
Trolling Nov 26-30
Second rut Dec 10-20
Take what you want from these dates but I still like Halloween until November 5th or 6th even though this year was not very good for me. Looks like next week should be good according to the charts. Maybe we will see good movement mid week during WI gun season.

What does yours say Zap?
Thought maybe I made a typo but double checked and it is correct. This is from Jeff Murray's Deer Hunters' Red Hot Rut Guide 2007-2011. Do you have a different one.

Re: Jeff Murray's Rut Guide
Thanks Dewey, I'll check it out against my log book. I'm very skeptical about the late rut predictions though.
