Antler Growth

What is the earliest some of you have seen it start?
I've never really have kept track and just curious. I figure
we have about 3-4 weeks and I will start seeing some growth.

I can tell you the latest I've seen them carrying is April 8th.
My brother has been watching 3 huge bucks and he said as of Friday they were still carrying so he is waiting for them to drop.

I have no idea when it starts, but last year we started shinning when the corn was about a foot high.

Seems kind of odd to me but I have already seen growth while at the same time I still have bucks carrying horns. Last years button bucks have been showing growth for a month now and the dozen or so bucks I've been getting pics of only started to drop 2 weeks ago.

I could not put a date on it... Don't think anyone could. It certainly varies. Its weird to look at bucks in June. Some will be mostly developed, and some just starting. But come the end of August they are all caught up.

Wierd, a buddy of mine sad he saw a nice 10 point with Antlers the same Day... April 8th, last week.

I seen one on April first once (no, this is not an April fools joke) with 8" of growth already.

I saw a small basket carrying a little over a week ago in Southern WI. I have some pics of bucks starting to grow already, about two inches long.

In Montana I've seen spike Elk still carrying in May - spring bear season.
