another michigan buck down!!

Unread postby rack addict » Sun Nov 13, 2011 2:42 pm

I'll give you the whole story tomorrow and better pics. Long story short...Got aggresive and rattled this buck in around 5:00. He ran right in for a 12 yard shot. He stood 40 yards away for about 25 minutes before finally going down. God keeps blessing me! My biggest buck so far.

Awesome!
You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

That is something I need to do some time; rattle one in and kill it.

Congrats!

I have taken two shots at that angle and recovered both with zero trouble. I hear all the time about slight quartering too shots, but the way I look at it is everyone loves quartering away shots, and if the arrow goes in where it came out on this shot , everyone would say great shot, but in reality you hit the same organs, just from a different direction. If it were steeper then you run into a one lung scenario, but if you hug that shoulder it should take everything out. I just don't see the difference I guess.

I definately agree! I shoot enough and have the confidence that where I aim thats where the arrow is going to go. I knew if I hugged that shoulder he was going down. I dont know if I would have gotten another opportunity to shoot if I didnt shoot right then. Sure glad I chose to shoot!
