Can I get a ruling, please???
Being new to the forum, I'm not sure how you guys view things.
I shot a buck @ 4:30, yesterday afternoon. Hit looked good. I waited 30min's and checked the POI. I found my arrow (about 27" of it) and very little blood. I decided to leave him overnight.
Got back @ 1st light. I went first to the spot I thought he'd pile up. Nothing. I decide to walk a ravine to the top of the ridge and then go to the POI. 30yds or so in, I see blood. Great. I have a 100yd head-start on the blood trail. About 60yds in, I jump 3 deer. One has a big body. But, I can't be sure it's "him".
Here's the clarification.......I'm (legally) carrying my ML at this point.
I get up to the beds and there's a fresh bed with blood in it. 10' over there's an identical bed. 5' over....another. I follow blood out of the last bed, and he'd made a wide circle at some point that led back to bed No. 1. I decided to go to where I saw the 3 deer flee to see if I could get on any blood. 100yds in, I jump HIM. I couldn't get a shot off, so I kept following the blood. He'd just gone over the top of the ridge and I jumped him again. He's laboring pretty hard and he goes out of sight again. I keep following blood and glassing.....and jump him again. This time, he stops at about 80yds, hard qtring away. I put the ML up and fire. Lotsa smoke.
When I get up to where he should be, there he laid. Thank God.
It was 10:00. It was over.
I found 3" or so of my BH in his brisket. I'd hit him right in the crease; punctured one lung and still he'd survived 15.5hrs.. Amazing creatures.
I had a legal tag for him....whichever weapon. I took my harvest photo with the bow. I consider this a bowkill....but, it doesn't matter to me if anyone else does or not. I'm just not sure if you guys are hardcore bow, only. If so, I won't post the photo.
My taxi thinks he's 5.5. I just know he's "mature". I hate he suffered through the night and morning. But, it's over, now.

Post it! I've used a rock, a stanley utility knife, etc to finish off deer. Tackeling deer is a sport all in it's own league..... A friend of mine has even used a bowling pin a few times. Those one lung hit deer are tough and need to be chased sometimes. Whatever it takes guns, bows it's all good Hunting!!! Let's see that buck Congrats!

Re: Can I get a ruling, please???
Thanks, Dan (and others).
He broke his G3 off his rt. Side, somewhere on his egress. I don’t use trailcams anymore. But, I’m betting one of my buddies has a photo of him (he hunts the adjacent farm). My taxi says he can reproduce it.
Here’s what I found in his brisket….and a BH hole through his rt. Lung……..
And, here he is. He’s the 1st main-frame 10-pointer I’ve seen in my woods since I started hunting them 7yrs. Ago.
I apologize for the tongue hanging out. I self-shot the photos...and did my best. I over-looked this detail as I was rushed for time.
