Kinda opposite of this, I did read in a benoit book that they need to lay and chew the cud, if they have a full belly and you get on a track and do not allow them to lay, keep them on the move, gas will build up and they will get sick, slowing down etc.

Thats interesting Mike... I had not heard that before but it makes sense. I believe they chew there cud by burping from gas build up and thus burping up there cud. Not positive on that, so correct me if I am wrong.

Thats my understanding, and judging from the bloat that can come after killing one, its seem to be the case. When I'm gutting and I hear whoooooooossssssssh, I back away and let it air out for a minute.
