Opening Day Buck, WI - 2021

I was watching a unique buck with a tall and tight frame with two extra eye guards stemming from his bases all summer long. I would sit the fence line a few times a week into darkness filming and glassing his every move when he’d step into the bay field.
I took notes on the conditions and the differences it would make as to when and where he’d enter the field and which direction he would take. On opening day I went in after him with my friend, Dave, over my shoulder as cameraman.

There was an 8-pointer Dave had fallen for that was amongst one of the bachelor groups from summer frequenting the farm. I told Dave if the 8pt stepped into range with reasonable time left for me to finish my evening sit he would have the opportunity to reverse the role from cameraman to hunter.
