2020 recap

Unread postby Matt Gill » Sat Dec 26, 2020 4:01 am

I hunted hard in 2020 and it was good to me. 2 public land archery bucks, one in OH one in WV. A private land WV archery buck and a private land WV rifle buck. The beast tactics have really help hone my woodsmanship

Wow what a season, congrats. What are the 2/3 things that you believe led to your success as far as it relates to beast hunting?

Understanding how deer bed and utilize the wind! I had been hunting security cover and transitions for awhile but once I found dan and studied how they bed in relation to the transitions and using the wind I feel like I really stepped my game up. I also stopped focusing on getting so deep and just started keying in on hunting the right features. Plus being mobile and paying more attention to where others were hunting and going where they weren’t. I feel like I found the beast tactics at the perfect time in my hunting career, I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel, just hone the edge of my woodsmanship. I also hunted nearly 40 days, and in my opinion there’s no replacing time in the woods figuring out what’s happening in your area

That’s awesome man. How many bucks are you allowed to kill in WV?
No Shortcuts. No Excuses. No Regrets.
Everybody's selling dreams. I'm too cheap to buy one.
