Redemption 2020
So happy to share with you guys today.
I wasnt even going to bow hunt this year bc of losing 3 bucks in 2019. Tough deal for sure. I met a guy that is really good with bows and he helped me w mine. We fine tuned it but specifically helped me tune my arrows. It gave me the confidence to get back out there. I also upped my broadheads to 125gr. Viscous
Couldnt be happier with the results!
** Oct Buck - Morning - Bump n Dump ** (10/9/20)
So many details to this story. I jumped him a few days prior from his bed. Ill just say he fooled me coming thru the brush and I got tunnel vision seeing the split Gs. I couldnt be happier to punch that buck tag tho.
One really cool thing that happened after I dropped him. He was kicking around, so I reload, look over and see a Bobcat coming my way! He had something in his mouth, saw the buck thrashing, dropped it and ran off. It was a rabbit! Too cool

** 2 Does, 1 Sit ** (10/11/20)
For the first time (and likely the last) in my life, I shot 2 deer in 1 sit! I went hunting w my grandpa for a evening hunt and a group of 4 came thru right to me. I shot the first one and immediately piled her up! I thought I spine shot her but she literally collapsed instantly! A short time later another Doe stepped out. Such a cool hunt! I cant believe it!
** IL Doe ** (10/16/20)
Long story short - I was offered to hunt in IL on private late Oct. First morning a large group came thru so I shot one. At this point I cant believe how well my bow and broadheads are performing for me. I really wish I had gotten a good picture w this deer... I hot her back, w a slight quartering away. Ramacats did their job again!
So here I am 10/16 and I am at a stand still until Nov!... Let me tell you that 4 weeks was really tough. Fast forward to rifle season and the weather was terrible on days I could hunt, it was great days I had mandatory work. Post rifle I just kept grinding as much as possible. Still no buck sightings.
** Dec Buck ** (10/6/20)
Finally something gave. I hunted this spot early Oct before shooting that other buck. I jumped a really heavy deer out of this woodlot in the dark. It was way too early to bed hunt the AM but the bed was awesome and I couldnt help but try. Sunday morning first light this buck passed by me grunting, I was cussing bc I couldnt get a shot and he was headed to another bedding area. Well all of sudden things changed, he turned around and came back! Walked right in and turned broadside. Im sure my eyes were as wide as could be! I cant believe how good of a buck he is! Huge hoofs too. My wife took some fantastic pictures
I cant wait to pay that taxidermy bill
So I shoot the buck, I go home to get my wife and daughter. Finally get them in the car to take the deer to the shop, I back up and look over to see this standing in my front yard! King of the Forest! Had to share this with you guys bc it was an amazing sight.
I still have a IL buck tag but I cant guarantee that gets punched. All that matters is that I put some decent shots on deer and glad I didnt quit.

Re: Redemption 2020
Thank you guys. It means a lot to me. I still cant believe it
Heres a pic of the bed. The better spot is actually right below the cedar tree. Its worn to dirt as well. I didnt get too close bc it was Sept when I found it. I plan to go back and remove those sticks you can see in the dirt. Idk why but I always do that... You can see the gashes and rubs in the cedar tree branches. Impressive
