Michigan Success So Far

Unread postby Trout King » Tue Dec 08, 2020 2:15 am

It has been a great season so far for me and my oldest son in Michigan. Our ML (second gun in our area) has less than a week to go with late antlerless on the horizon. Late doe and bow season lasts until the 20th, which I plan on using my last tag on a antlerless deer, unless big louey happens to wander out during ML.

My 10 (at the time) yo son kicked off the season during the youth hunt with his best buck.

A buddy and I doubled up on early antlerless season does.

My son scored in late October on his first archery season buck with his first crossbow kill. He was chasing a doe in the corn by a old rickety box blind with little cover.

November 11th I was sitting in a rut funnel with cattails in a swampy wood stand connected to a swail. I just finished missing a nice buck when this guy popped in behind me and offered a walking shot at 7 yds.

My son filled his final tag of the year last week on this doe.

What a great season and memories made. As mentioned ML season remains until next Sunday and some deer hunting remains until Jan 1. I am starting to think time for waiting on another nice buck is over and time to fill the remaining tag to finish what my family will use for meat this year.

SPARTY ON !!

Looks like a great season, congrats!

Surgery decimated this season for me but I am going out a few times during late season- even with the use of only one arm (temporary).
