Abby dumps a good one
Tonight Abby was able to dump a buck I've wanted gone for a couple years. Never much for tines, average mass, and all bully. He piddle pucked around in the timber for over a hour, just out of range, and made the mistake of following a doe into the alfalfa field. At 70 yards she put it in him while she was barefoot in the blind. I heard the bullet hit him but he didn't act hit at all. We packed stuff up and out then came back with lights to look for blood... and blood did we find.
Even though we had plenty of blood he went about 125 yards and piled up in a small ditch. Such a great way to top off the end of youth season. The great thing was her attitude going into this hunt. "I'm not shooting one unless it's bigger than Alex's (her brothers) so I can shut him up"
Boy did she shoot a great buck to knock her brother down a peg or 3!
Here's to the end of the kids season and the official start of mine.

That would be great. The deep freezer is officially stuffed so this guy will spill over to grandma's.
