Knew we'd hear from you sooner than later!! Great bucks. Too bad about the 2nd chapter buck. Hate that you went through that, but really appreciate you still sharing it. It helps the rest of us that have gone through similar occurances. Realize even someone as accomplished as you can have things go wrong. Really glad your schedule freed up a little bit this year, and you got more woods time. 8-)  :handgestures-thumbup:

Congratulations on the monster bucks!
Great story. Thanks for including the thought process that went into it.
I am glad you included chapter 2. Those are the kind of circumstances we can really learn from. Thanks for sharing it and breaking it down.

Great bucks Joe. Thanks for sharing your stories.

I especially appreciate the effort you put into the second buck. Great lesson to be learned here. Give it everything you have to recover a wounded buck. I have a lot of respect for somebody that puts that much work into a recovery. Wish more would do the same. I know it was tough sharing that story but thanks for doing it.

Glad you could kill the last buck to ease the pain a bit. I know that had to feel pretty good that you could end the season on a high note.

The professor strikes again! Awesome bucks Joe!

The Chapter 2 buck story hits home with me a lot. I went through a rough patch where I wounded and lost 2 bucks (2016 and 2018), and both shots were under 13 yards. Put them at 20-35, and it seems like I ten-ring them every time. I had to really focus on my shooting under pressure this season, and I managed to put good shots on all three of my bucks this year, including two under 20 yards.

I appreciate you and Dan sharing all your stories, especially the stories where the buck gets away, because I know a lot of guys on the Beast lookup to you guys. It goes to show in bowhunting, no one is infallible. I also respect the time you put into trying to track that buck down, great example. Glad to see you got back on the horse during muzzleloader season and connected with an awesome and unique buck.

Great write-up, really enjoyed reading through it! Congrats on an awesome season. I would say it must be nice to live in a state like Iowa but I know better. You've obviously put the work in and would be successful anywhere :handgestures-thumbupleft:
