I decided to head into the best north wind bedding area and get settled in for the morning hunt. Right away, I had two does work their way in right under the stand. My phone had been buzzing, so since I had a second I checked the messages. The neighbor was combining 200 yards away. 20 minutes prior To checking my phone he had texted me, “big buck coming your way.” I texted back, “haven’t seen him yet,” and put my phone away. As I looked up, to my surprise there he was. He walked into 15 yards, I drew and I shish kebabed him when he was quartering to at 15 yards. He ran 50 yards and tipped over.
I pulled out my phone and texted the neighbor, “got him,” two minutes after I said I hadn’t seen him.
