NY Public Land 9 point

I shot this guy at 9am on November 2nd. It was a crazy morning. I had a spike come out of the bedding area behind me at first light. About 10 minutes later a Fisher tried climbing up into my treestand with me. I had to wave at him to scare him off. Then at 8 o'clock a cow comes walking by! Apparently she escaped from one of the local farms. She plowed right into the bedding thicket I was hunting. I figured my hunt was over but at 9 I saw this buck cruising through the thicket about 70 yards away. A few grunts was all he needed to head in my direction. I stopped him in an opening 25 yards away and let the arrow fly. It wasnt a perfect shot but I took out his liver and he only went 100 yards before piling up. There were 2 bigger 10 points I had on trail camera in the area but he was too nice to pass up....especially on NY public land. It was only my 2nd sit in this stand this season. It one of my better spots and I tried staying out of there until the bucks started moving good. Hopefully I can get a crack at one of those 10 points during gun season but the public I hunt is a madhouse during gun season.

Thanks guys. Theres definitely something to be said for staying out of your best spots until the time is right.
