First bow buck
I've hunted public land since I was 10. Bowhunted since I was 16. Today I shot my first bow buck at 22. Couldn't be more pleased.

Re: First bow buck
Ill go ahead and add some back story to the hunt. I found this spot last year. It's a river bottom with tall grass as seen in the picture, lots of bedding and traffic. Last year I hunted it on the weekends when I came home from college (3hrs north), but on the opposite side of a creek. Everytime I've hunted the general area I've seen a nice buck. Atleast 6 shooters in the 5 times I've hunted it; all at exactly 645 to 710AM. This year I moved 70yards across the creek. Yesterday i got in late and im hanging up at 650am. I was so tempted to just sit on the ground. As I'm hanging the stand I hear noise, look back to see a nice 8pt walking right to me. This buck was bigger than the one pictured, but needless to say I didn't shoot him. Wake up 20 mins earlier and I shoot that buck. Like they say its the little things that get you. Time on that buck 700am. I stayed till the winds picked up then I left. Getting down I saw a 10pt running a doe with mack daddy in the back ground watching them run circles. Interesting to see a true mature buck not partake in the kids games. Today, I got out early was set up by 610am and waited. Once 7am hit I heard deer coming, stood up clipped on my release to see 3 does coming in with this guy following. He steered them around in a ditch till he came out and steered them away from the creek crossed broadside at 25yds where I deflated both lungs..kill shot.
